A former hermitage now popularly known as Holumba Haven is in a true sense a very unique accommodation provider with a great collection of small cottages surrounded by beautiful Himalayan flowers and gardens. The first cottage was built in 1935 by late Mr. T. Pempahishey, originators of Motor Transport Kalimpong (1927). The Ven. Bikchu Sangharakshita lived in it in the 1950's and named it ‘The Hermitage' (Magnolia) and refers to it as his Garden of Eden in his book "Facing Mount Kanchenjunga". They are also well known for their renowned orchid nursery on the premises. The friendly host with an eager to help attitude runs it. Holumba is an excellent place to stay in this quaint little town called "Kalimpong".
Holumba Heaven offers great ambience and hospitality. Orchid Nursery, gardens and pet birds and animals roam freely at the site.
