Classic Guest House was originally known as Dant Kothi, named after the dental clinic it actually was years ago. Now it has been brilliantly converted into this simple guesthouse. The original owners were the Smith Brothers and it was also known as Smith Villa. Since Darjeeling originally was a summer capital of the British East India Company based in Kolkata, Classic Guest House is one of the heritage residences that were converted to a guesthouse.
This small sized guesthouse is more inclined towards a home-stay feel with a lovely garden at the front where you can just relax on a clear day and enjoy the golden sun. You may need to walk a little to reach the guesthouse (vehicles are not allowed), but this adds value because of the absence of traffic noise.
Located at walking distance from the Mall Road, it is a great place away from the town if you are looking for some peace and quiet.
